Important Information about Church Ministries

Dear church, in this article you will find some important information about various church ministries that will be useful to you.

1) An extra opportunity to participate in Communion. Since not all church members are able to be present on Sunday mornings, which also means they cannot participate in the Lord’s Supper, we have an extra Communion service on the Thursday after the Sunday communion service. As usual, at the end of the hour-long prayer meeting we have another opportunity to remember the price of our salvation.

2) Visits for the Lord’s Supper at home. There are some church members who are sick or elderly and cannot be present at our gatherings. One of elders can visit such people to do Communion at their home. If you have this need, please contact Pavel Belev.

3) Serving one another on Sunday. One unusual way we can all serve each other is to gather on Sunday morning on time. It’s understandable that sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances and you can be late, but we all know that in our midst there are those who are chronic late-comers. We do not want to change you by guilt-tripping you; we want to invite you to change your mind based on Scripture. Our corporate gatherings are meant for us to spur one another toward love and good deeds, admonishments, and encouragements (Heb. 10:24-25). Consider coming on time as an opportunity to encourage others with your presence. By coming early and not leaving right away afterwards, we set ourselves up to have more discussions and prayers and allow ourselves to participate in each other’s lives.

4) Evening service. The evening service is a gathering of both morning services and a unique opportunity to see the whole church. This time is less formal and allows for more people to participate. This is when we share about our local evangelism, the missions projects of the church, pray over kids, and share about various changes and plans regarding the church. During the evening services we also have a special offering where the funds go only toward missions. Use this time as an opportunity to be in fellowship with the saints. It may be that in the future you will desire such times for fellowship, but they may be no more.

5) Evangelism tracts. You can find tracts for evangelism in the front lobby on the stand near the front entrance. We encourage you to grab a few of these and when the opportunity arises to give it to someone and share the gospel with them.

6) Benevolence fund. There is a group of deacons that has funds to help church members in need. We understand that there are situations in life that require help from the church. If you have a personal need or know of someone in need, please contact Pavel Proshak. We will do all we can to help with the difficult situation.

7) Small groups. We do not stop talking about the importance of being part of a small/home group. This is the place to serve one another and grow together in grace. If you have any questions, please contact Eugene Bardosh.

8) Outdoor evangelism. God has called the church to be the light in the world and to evangelize to all and everywhere. One such opportunity to do this is to evangelize on the streets of Sacramento, San-Francisco, Las Vegas, and other cities. If this type of ministry interests you or you want to grow in your evangelism skills, please contact Vasiliy Khripunov.

9) Church membership. We sometimes have new people come and we do not know how we can help them. Vasiliy Zavorotny is the one responsible for new church members. If you find someone interested in the church or know of church members who have grown weak and stopped attending our gatherings and know they need spiritual help, please let Vasiliy know.

10) Serving one another. We are deeply convicted that every born-again person has spiritual gifts for the benefit and edification of the church. We strongly ask you not to bury your gifts. There may be various situations in life when you may be limited (small kids or situations at work), but if you still have the desire, we will do all we can to help you be useful in the church. For questions about ministries, please contact any of the pastors.

Scripture To Memorize

10 He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
13 As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

Psalm 103:10-13
