Prayer for Missionaries

Praise God that He allows us to be part of the Great Commission in making disciples of Jesus Christ in all the nations. One important aspect in this work is the church’s support both financially and spiritually of the missionaries who bring the Good News to places lacking a church. GFC has been supporting missionaries for many years in many countries that have few, if any, believers. Currently we support the following missionaries:

Viktor Kovba (Torreviejo, Spain)

Sergey Potapov (Torun, Poland)

Joseph Sheremet (Warsaw, Poland)

Nikolay Levanchuk (Voznesensk, Ukraine)

Sergey L. (Uzbekistan)

Boris Z. (Uzbekistan)

Vitaliy Fomin (Athens, Greece)

Simone Marini (Rome, Italy)

We invite you to pray for these families in this way:

  • Pray for their zeal in evangelism (Eph. 6:19). Paul had asked the church to prayerfully support him in the preaching of the gospel.
  • Pray for their moral and spiritual purity. As all Christians, ministers are also tempted in the same aspects of life. Furthermore, looking at the temptations that Paul, Peter, and others had to go through, we understand that the enemy of the soul specifically targets those who spread the gospel.
  • Pray for them to depend more on God rather than their own abilities (Pr. 3:5-6).
  • Pray that they would receive wisdom from God (Jas. 1:5-6).
  • Pray for the families of the missionaries, that both husband and wife would be close to each other and that their kids would receive salvation. Also, pray that they would labor together as a family (Josh. 24:15).

Scripture To Memorize

19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,

20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:19-21
