Prayer and Small Groups
This year at GFC is the Year of Prayer. The reason for this decision is a sincere desire to grow in prayer. If we are honest with ourselves, with one another, and especially before God, we will have to admit that we still have much to learn about prayer. This is particularly true when it comes to corporate prayer. We live in a society that deliberately fosters individualism, isolation, and superficial communication through social media.
Thank God for our Thursday prayer meetings, and for the once-a-month meetings when, on both Wednesday and Thursday, we focus our attention on praying together. This is something in which we want to grow even more. And it is precisely the home-based small groups that help us strive together for one another in a more consistent and heartfelt ministry of prayer. Yes, ministry!
This Sunday, we will once again be forming small groups for the next nine months. And this part of the church life is voluntary. Nevertheless, we as elders strongly encourage you to sign up for a home group so that you yourselves can receive timely spiritual help and support, and give it in return, to your brothers and sisters. Because of the size of the church, home groups play an increasingly important role in close fellowship with one another. They help each of us not to “get lost in the crowd.”
Do everything you can to be at the Home Group Celebration this Sunday evening. In small groups, we have the opportunity to care for one another, serve one another, fellowship with one another, and share meals with one another!
But most importantly, in small groups you сan pray for one another:
“…praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel… (Eph. 6:18-19).

Home Group sign-ups will officially open this Sunday after the Evening Service!
We’ll start off with a short presentation, followed by a chance to meet group leaders and explore your options at information desks set up in the gym.
Take a look below at the groups being offered this year, and start thinking which group you'd like to join.
