The Value of Prayer Meetings

Beloved, we invite all of you to join the prayer meetings held every Thursday at 7:30 PM. These gatherings last only 45 minutes, yet in their spiritual impact they are comparable to 3-4 hours of fellowship. During these meetings, the Lord reveals much, answers our requests, and works with our hearts.

Prayer is the seeking of God and asking Him to fulfill His promises. Corporate prayer brings encouragement and strengthening in faith when we hear how God is working and transforming the lives of brothers and sisters. In the New Testament, we find many instances specifically of the saints praying together. This is the strength of the church. This is the unity of the church. This is the influence of the church.

To encourage you to come to church on Thursdays, I suggest you take a look at what takes place during our meetings. Here, for example, is one of the prayers from last month.

Scripture to Memorize

"If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing."
1 Corinthians 13:1-3
