Weekly Newsletter 06/23/2022
Greetings to you dear church!
As you know, this year we are praying, striving toward, and talking more about personal evangelism. This isn’t easy, but it is what the Lord Himself has called us toward. Yes, we can find many excuses to not do this (something like a language or cultural barrier), but the commission in Matthew 28 is directed also at us today, no less than the original disciples of Christ who heard it 2,000 years ago.
Here are a few practical things that I want to share with you. Some are my own and some are from Yevgeniy Bakhmutskiy’s book called Faithbook:
1. Spend more time outdoors, don’t hurry home, talk to your neighbors.
2. Share something that you bake with your neighbors.
3. Invite your neighbors over for dinner.
4. Be part of your neighborhood community meetings or in online spaces.
5. Definitely greet everyone you see walking by your house or while on your own walk.
6. Host a garage sale, even if you don’t really need to, in order to have more contact with people.
7. Grow fruits and vegetables and share them with your neighbors.
8. Have your neighbor’s phone number and periodically message each other.
9. Host a Christian movie night followed by discussion at your home.
10. Invite your neighbor’s kids for games and socializing. Invite the parents and kids as guests to your place.
11. For Christmas, definitely carol around your neighbors (prepare some small gifts and cards).
12. Find out when it is your neighbors’ birthdays and gift them a card and a small baked good on their birthday.
13. If your neighbors are moving, fixing something, or have any other need, always offer your help (be persistent).
14. Maintain your property so that it would always be clean. This is another step toward people.
15. Clean up trash on your walks, don’t litter yourself, help neighbors (some might just need their grass cut or weeds ripped out).
16. When our church hosts some event, invite them to church (if you have an invitation, give them a card). When you have a relationship with them, invite your neighbors to church.
17. When you are in need of help, go, humble yourself, and ask your neighbors for help.
18. Share your parking spaces, allow your neighbors to park in front of your home (if you have the opportunity), share your tools (hammers, shovels, saws).
19. When your neighbors leave on vacation, offer your help (with the mail, trash bins, packages, and simply looking over their property).
20. Find out the names of your neighbors and PRAY for them daily!

Scripture To Memorize
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
